If you are taking the 30 x 3 Challenge (to work out for 30 minutes 3 times a week) please post about your challenge here. How is it going? Are you finding that you can easily keep your personal appointment to show up to work out?

How are you keeping your workouts interesting?

Mine is going good thus far, Kathy. I get to Curves 3 x a week with no problem. I am involved in a 30 day challenge that ends on Thursday. It is a team effort and the team with the most points wins. I don't think I lost any weight but I somehow feel I have lost inches. I will let you know after my weigh-in sometime in the next few days.

I started the challenge today! 3mi Walk DVD this morning. I usually get some form of exercise at least three times a week at home or at the gym. This will be good for those weeks that I think I just can't find the time or I'm just being lazy.

I signed up last night and plan to start today. I have several workout DVDs here that I use so I plan to mix it up and keep things interesting. As soon as the weather breaks - I'll be outside for running and bike riding as well. I do a "pretty" good job of staying active, but not as often as I'd like. I'm hoping to ramp up to several days a week with this challenge.

I'm keeping track of my progress in a Health Blog.

I am doing pretty, I go to Curves 4 - 5 times a week right after work, then head for the track for a run/walk for 2.5 miles. I hope it will begin to show soon. It is the eating, not the exercising, that is killing me!

Hi,
I started the 3day Challenge today. I'm planning on working out 3-4x a week. I read the post about walking dogs and working out, and I'm going to walk our dog in the neighborhood here at least everyday. He's big, so I have to walk kinda fast.
Then I plan on doing my Walk away the Pounds video or one of my other videos to kinda keep from getting bored or discouraged.
The thing I like about this is I feel part of a group. Not that I'm accountable to you guys, but Like I can say I did it! And you did it too..and we can all be proud of ourselves that we are trying to be healthy and work out more. Does that make sense?? :)

Just a quicky note to note my progress on my Challenge,
I walked a mile yesterday with Ramone (our galloping dog) and then did my Walk away the Pounds video today.
I think this challenge is helping me. It's helping me stay commited because I sorta feel like I'm part of this big huge club! All you out there that are challenging this too...from all ove the place...it's so cool that we can all be in a challenge together!
truckin along with Ramone....

Hi Kathy and fellow "3 x 30" challengers....

I started the challenge on Feb 5th and have been working out a minimum 3, (but usually 5) X per week. I have increased my time walking on the treadmill to 45 minutes as well as the incline and speed.

I think it is going great......I find that writting regualrly in my blog has helped keep me motivated and on track.....

At my last weigh in I had lost 16 pounds since mid January, I am weighing in every 2 weeks (so as to not get hung up on numbers), and weigh in again this Friday....fingers crossed!!

Thanks
Susan

Congrats Susan!! I'm doing the challenge too! But I'm not as far along as you are!
I've had tons of stress lately and working out has been pushed off till it's sorta non-existent now. So, I am starting slow and walking with my dog and doing my videos. Hopefully, I'll have some good results like you soon!
I'm really happy for ya! Keep up the good work!
I agree with you, writing in my blog and on my calender here sorta keeps me going.

I am really lucky, our church group just started an exercise group that meets 3 times a week and we walk for now. They are talking about doing other video's or something else. I think it really helps you to stick to it if you have someone doing it with you. I am so excited. I have been walking by myself and really like the company.

Hi,
I started the challenge last week. I do have severe chronic pain, so sometimes I am not faithful to the challenge. I try restorative Yoga poses, stationary bike and bowling. I haven't done any real cardio yet. Slowly as I find what doesn't bother me I will continue. I haven't lost weight but I have maintained. Any ideas for exercises/workouts for someone with chronic low back pain and thoracic muscle spasms?

Well, I went yesterday even though it had been a stressful day and flet better afterwards. Those days make it so hard to go and do anything. I am also tempted to emotional eat when I am stressed out. Anyone else have any advice on the emotional eating or can anyone relate?

Thanks.

Just the inspiration I needed. I have been doing Yoga at home from a DVD and certainly feel more toned. But would like to tackle this challenge to loose the weight. So this is the day. Thanks girls for the motivation. ;)

If you are doing any weight training or lifting weights, you've probably gained some muscle and lost fat which is why your clothes fit better. It will start to show in the scale soon! :) Keep up the great work! It feels great to see some toning and clothes fitting better. I'd take that of the scale moving, but that's me.

But keep it up! :D

Bleah! I had an off week due to illness, but I was well enough today to get in a 30 minute walk and should be back to Curves tomorrow. (I'm sure the Curves members will appreciate that I chose not to spread my nasty germs there.)

Inspired by all of you who are getting through this challenge! I am on Day one of week eight and also feeling sick (sore throat/cold). Wasnt going to do it today but pushed my way thru it and ended doing an hour on the treadmill. Have lost almost 30 pounds (weigh in is next Friday), and credit this challenge for it. I had started on my own in January, but it was kicked into high gear with the challenge. Next Saturday I go to the city for new clothes (my old ones are literally hanging on me)....I have no idea what size I am, just soooo excited to see. I have been an 18W for the past 6 years.

Keep going!!

I noticed a difference in my muscle tone from being out of commission. I'm back on track and seeing improvement again. This week is challenging because DH is working mornings and DS is on spring break, so Curves has to wait until the afternoon. I end up so involved in other things that I haven't been this week, but I have had some nice walks recently with DS. Things should be more normal next week. I hope I remember what normal is! ;)
