Online Shopping

Currently I'm in the market for a TV. The prices on-line are better, but I'm a little leary of getting such a big ticket, fragile item in case it gets damaged in shipping.

Are you afraid of ordering some things and only buy them locally?

i buy all my tv/electronics in costco..you cant beat their return policy and prices. i'm afraid to buy those kinds of things online...mostly because i dont want to be bothered returning it if its damaged in shipping and i like to see what i'm buying first.

We bought a tv for my dad at costco.com- they delivered it AND carried it upstairs to the bedroom. No problems. Their return policies are great.

My DH and I will order just about anything online. It's great to have it delivered instead of having to go and get it.

I would be leary of ordering a big ticket item online. I want to see it, touch it and feel it. I think if you shop around instore you can find some good deals on TVs. We bought a 67" Samsung HP DLP xxxx <sorry, don't remember the techicalities) for a great price. I looked around online and in ads and didn't see a better deal.

I would prefer to buy the TV locally but it seems all the sales are for 40+ screens I want a 32".

If Costco had the TV I wanted I would buy it there in a heartbeat (I love that store).

I've been checking out price matching policies and most places will only match local store prices. Someone told me to go back to Best Buy and see if they would honor the pre-Christmas sale price. It was on sale the one week I couldn't get there to pick it up. :(

There are usually good prices for the Super Bowl (and afterward) so I'm keeping an eye out.

Having thing delivered is so nice. I bought my lawnmower from Amazon. After bringing my first one home from the store by myself, it was so nice to just cut down the box around it and roll it into the garage.

I'm just very leary about buying a TV online because of the glass screen and potential dead pixels.
