I've found the best thing to help us with the piles of paper that stack up.
I bought a colorful metal tub and put it by the door we use most of the time...near our kitchen door that leads to the garage. In this metal tub I toss all paper.
Newspaper, junk mail, magazines when I'm done. Anything that is paper goes into this bin. When its recycling day for paper, I toss it in the recycler and out it goes. Before I did this I found I would have stacks of paper everywhere because I didn't want to put the paper into trashcan nor did I want to step outside to put it into our recycler.
This saves steps and encourages me to sort the mail and toss as I come in the door. Makes it easier to manage the junk mail!
