The new season starts tonight with the Shoot Out.

I love seeing the cars and all my guys working again. I missed them in the off season and am so happy to see them again. The Speed network is the only channel we've had on yesterday and today. I absolutely love Rutledge, Jimmy Spencer and Kenny Wallace. And to know I'm not far off from hearing "Boogety Boogety Boogety" is almost too much to handle.

There's always changes with the new year and this year is no different.

My heart goes out to the teams that have changed b/c they haven't had any practice sessions and aren't as comfortable with each other. I do understand why Nascar changed the rules but these teams are at a distinct disadvantage.

Not that Nascar is always fair. It's always had teams at a disadvantage but this really (IMHO) makes it worse.

I'm also disappointed that there was no official send off for Kyle Petty. When Dale Jarret retired we had a big send off and there was plenty of time to cry and look back at what had been. But for Kyle, there's nothing. I understand that the circumstances where different but it would have been a good tribute to him.

Oh, and I have a few gripes too. I don't feel Scott Speed paid his dues driving in the other series, I don't think he should be allowed to drive in Nascar yet.

Same goes for Joey Lagono, even though I realize he's an awesome driver, he should still have to drive at least a year in one of the other series.

You would think Nascar would learn. They pull in drivers who haven't earned their place in Nascar and most of them crash and burn within the first year. Juan Pablo has been the only exception I can think of.

So what's your input on the new season? Whose your driver? Who do you dislike? What are you looking forward to?

I have alot of driver's I'm pulling for.

Jeremy Mayfield for one. He just started his own team & is the owner and driver. He's got a long hard road ahead of him. I wish him the best and am pulling for him.

I'm also very interested in Tony Stewart & Ryan Newman. I'm pulling for them and their new teams as well. I know they will do fine and have great races.

All things considered I will be pulling for Joey Lagono, can't help it, he's my sentimental favorite as far as rookies go. He's been driving his whole life and the races he drove the end of last season were great to watch.

My favorite drivers are all Hendrick. Jimmy Johnson is going to have another great year and I love watching him drive. I've never been a Jeff Gordon fan but he's growing on me. It doesn't hurt that his car for the Shoot Out is so sharp! I've been a Jr fan forever and that will never change. Same goes for Mark Martin. So Hendrick will be owner of choice this year.

Now for the drivers I hate.

Kyle Busch. He's so arrogant I just want to smack him. He's a good driver, but that's just not enough. I always cheer when he crashes. And there was a reason he had security escort his when he wrecked Jr, I'm not the only who doesn't care if he never races again.

Robbie Gordon. His past history just turns me off of him. He flat out lied about throwing debris on the race track, we watched him do it in all the replays. He's so dishonest I don't trust him. And when he threw his helmet at Micheal Waltrip I was disappointed no one ran him over. Not that I blame the drivers, he's not worth ruining a perfectly good race car over.

So that's how I feel. What about you?

Oh yeah, I forgot, and I don't know how about Carl Edwards.

He's a stand up guy. I especially liked that he wore the courage beads that Dalton gave him for good luck. He seems like someone who is just a good guy who happens to drive really well.

Not that others don't strike me as nice guys, Jimmy Johnson, Ryan Newman to name a few, for some reason Carl stands out to me for being a good guy.
