Do any of you have a hubby who obsessively watches the stock market on a daily basis and must report the ups and downs of ever stock that you have invested in? My hubby is driving me nutso ! He used to do this with our mutual funds, but 6 months ago he began investing in stocks privately. I've told him that I really dont want to hear about any losses, any news regarding his investments. But he thinks i need to learn about it. Are u stuck in the same boat?

Hi, while my dh doesn't do this, there is someone that I work with that does this on a daily basis. I just dread bumping into him during breaks. It drives me nuts. At least I don't have to hear it at home. ;) Have you spoken with your husband about this? Maybe he doesn't know that it's driving you crazy? It may be that he is really interested in stocks and thinks you are also.

Why thank-you for replyin to my complaint about my rn. I have told him many times about how crazy i feel when he starts talkin stocks, but he gets so excited and i guess he just wants to share his stock news with someone. Literally, my eyes roll into the back of my head and my head spins when he starts up and i do alot of those "Yeah, honey"s. He got a degree in Commerce many, many years ago and i guess he feels like he's actually using it now.
Hugs right back at ya,
Deb

I know someone who does this. In fact if they are visiting my house they ask to get online to check their yahoo account (after leaving their house only hours earlier) to see the latest news/figures.
For this person I'm describing above, its a sign of insecurity. If they can't afford to be in that stock and must watch it hourly, why risk it if it happenes to fall (is my thinking).
I have a few stocks. But while I watch the stock figures, I certainly don't watch them daily. In fact, I check on them every week if I remember...and see them in my monthly statement. I'm one of those long term investors and don't see any reason to jump/grab/sell since I'm in it for the long run of investment.
I don't have any advice to give ya...just some support for understanding your frustration!

Thanks Kathy for your support. My rn says he's in it for the long run too, and I just pray for patience.
i love that photo with your email. What kind of dog is that? I have a dog too and I just love her.

Hi Deb,
I would think he would get the hint with the eye roll thing ;)My dh sometimes get it, sometimes doesn't, but the eye roll does work occassionally. :D

I am the one in my family that watches the stockes on a regular basis since I just completed a stock options education course. I have been using the Investools website for my stock research.
It sounds like the difference between your DH and me is that I don't bother my DH with all of the details, but he does complain about how much time I spend on the computer
I appreciate the other perspective that you have raised and will try to watch myself :D
Cheers!

I like to watch FOX News, because it's my only real source of local American news (we get CNN International, not CNN USA), but they have so much stock stuff -- especially on Saturday afternoons/evenings (we're EST +7)!
