 I know it sounds strange, but it works... The theory is simple, oil dissolves oil. When you think about it, it begins to click. I personally have been using Sweet Almond Oil mixed with Castor Oil. Some people use Grape Seed Oil, Sesame Seed Oil, Jojoba Oil you can use any oil that is a carrier oil, please do your research, as there are several different options. Some people add essential oils also. The Castor Oil is great for acne prone skin which even at age 44, I have.. I have mine mixed at a rate of about 60% Castor Oil and 40% Almond Oil. Here is what I do..

I place a good puddle in the palm of my hand and then I just apply it to my face. I leave it on for at least 5 minutes. I will usually massage it in at least once during this time. Then if I have time I will put a pan of water on the stove to a slow boil and I will stand over it and allow it to slowly steam my face for a couple of minutes. I will then take 3-4 pieces of cloth ( I cut up flannel ) and soak them in the hottest water I can tolerate. I then wring them out one at a time and place them on my face and wipe off the oil. I then repeat until all pieces ofcloth have been used, making sure my face is clear of oil. Then I splash my face with cool water to close my pores. If I am having a problem with break-outs, I then use Vinegar as a Toner. It also helps to remove all traces of oil. It is the best astringent I have ever used. I personally use an organic one purchased at a health food store. Yes I smell like a sub sandwich sometimes, but it could be worse.....

PS- The oil is great for the eyelashes

Interesting. What is it about vinegar that is good for the skin?

I have tried various cleansing agents over the years and always end up back to Noxema. I had a hard time finding the travel size so bought Noxema cloths for our upcoming vacation. Anything else I have tried makes my face break out.

The vinegar is a natural astingent. It kills bacteria apparently.... I am not sure to be honest.. I just know it works. I was shocked to be honest. I tried it as a dare my 18 y/o daughter gave me. I gave it a go and by golly it worked so I used it for 1 month and then quit and low and behold, the acne came right back. In fact I am back in the middle of getting rid of it now... I got lazy and stopped using it and started breaking out, so now I have to start all over again. My own darn fault, but I have everything I need.... Holler if you have any question.. The internet is full of websites that have all kinds of oil combos...

Update..... I must tell you that I have found it is best to dilute the vinegar 50% with water. Some people use it neat (directly on their skin), but it is just too strong for me.....It does not hurt, but is just more than I need. So I just placed it in a pretty container once I diluted it and called it good... Oh I also placed a few drops of Tea Tree Oil in both the Almond/Castor Oil mixture and the vinegar. Tea Tree Oil is a great disinfectant.....Not the best fragrance, but we are talking acne here.....Beauty is not always beautiful in the process :)

I would assume the Olive oil/Almond oil used to cleanse the face should be helping me to keep my wrinkles at bay. I have never been a sun worshipper, so I don't have alot of sun damage, but I would think the oils would help......

I'm going to try your oil process the only thing i have found that has worked on my acne so far is clean and clear. Do you have any ideas on how to make dark circles not so noticeable sometimes I feel like I look like the walking dead.
