I have a reunion coming up for a previous place of employment. I know that I have some pictures from those days and would like to put an album together. I've never done a scrapbook, but thought that would be a great way to put the pics together, rather than just stick them in an album.
Any suggestions to get started? I have no idea what I will need to get started. I don't want to spend a ton of money, but would like it to look nice.

Hi Kim:
I got thrown into scrapbooking when putting together my parents anniversary celebration a few years ago. I would suggest getting a scrapbooking magazine for ideas to get your juices flowing... I found that once I actually started laying out the pages, just arranging the photos on the page, ideas would sorta pop into my head.
Nowadays, you can get a *kit* at the craft stores to get you started. IMO, it's important to be able to spread out and leave the project for a few days if you have the extra space. Good luck to you!!! :bliss:

I never did scrapbooking either, until the adoption of my son. I knew I wanted to treasure the photos from meeting him and everything about him up until Adoption Day. I went on web sites and researched, bought some scrapbook magazine and a interesting book called "Scrapbooking for Dummies" Then I took the time to organize all the photos I had decide which ones to use and try to get them in an organized manner. Then I purchased stickers, quates and poems associated with what match my feelings, his likes, etc. It came out better than I expected and I have been given great reviews. I did give myself a few months to create it. Now on to the scrapbook of our Cruise to Bermuda. Good luck, let us know how it turns out.

Micheals has kits you can buy also. I think for something this quick and new it would be a good way to go....I also think there is really no way to mess up scrapbooking...it is so interesting to see everyones own perspective and how they put things together. :)
