I set up a Wii earlier this week and set up the Wii Fit today.

It looks like I need to read the instructions to know how to play the games other than the ones that "teach" you how to move the controller. And then the Wii fit insults me with my Wii Age and tells me I'm unbalanced. :o I know I have poor balance, I just thought the choice of words was funny. :D

Anyway...

Who here has a Wii? What games do you you like and dislike?

Do you have a Fit? Do you think it works to help your fitness level?

Take care

 JC,
I have a Wii and have the Wii fit. Thus far, I have yet to use the Wii Fit. I really need to get this body moving!

Oh, I did set it up when I got it and yeah I am unbalanced also. :D I'm not giving away my Wii age. ;)

I have the Wii sports package and love the bowling. I haven't done much on the other games, can't get the hang of them, but dh likes the tennis and golf. I'm just not that coordinated. May be the unbalanced thing. :signlol:

My goal is to do some of the Wii Fit games at least every other day. Right now 15 minutes is killing me. The games don't seem hard but they are using muscels I didn't know existed for a long time. :o

I thought I had been playing the sports games and was really disappointed....until you mentioned bowling and golf. Turns out that what I thought was the sports package was not and the disc was still in the box. :duh: I'll have to check those games out.

Take care

I've moved up to 30 minutes I've been trying to do 15 balance games and 15 aerobic ones and I'm sweating towards the end. I could really feel it in my knees the first couple of days and now my knees don't bother me for most games. I have trouble with my knees so to me that is a major accomplishement. :D

I tried Wii sports today after doing 30 minutes of Wii Fit and felt beat up by the time I checked out each of the games. Those games are much more fun than the other ones I thought was the sports package.

I did best at baseball, but liked tennis the best. I think I could like the boxing game since I can see taking frustrations out on the bag, but I just couldn't get the timing down. I'll have to read the instructions and work on that one more.

Take care

I got a Wii for the kids (ahem!) this year. We got Guitar Hero (need to get second guitar and drums), Super Mario, and Family Game Night.

We plan to set it up tomorrow (I know, I'm slow!) and give it a whirl. I'll let you know how it goes, but I'm interested in how others are doing with their Wii purchases.

It also took me forever to set the thing up because I was afraid I would spend too much time playing. So far, I've done pretty good at not playing too much and won't play anything else unless I do the Wii Fit stuff first.

One thing I learned is you need quite a bit of room in front of the TV for many of the Wii Fit and Sport games and I just don't have enough clearance. :o The TV and game are in a temporary spot until I finish redecorating a different room so once it gets moved the set up will be much better.

Just wanted to give an update..

I've moved beyond "unbalanced" on the games I play the most. The other games that I'm unlocking are a different story until I get the hang of them.

According to my body test, my balance is getting better. I favor one side of my body (probably due to a nee injury from years ago) so I think this is something good to know. It's also made me more aware of trying to stand and sit properly.

As much as I've heard that people should not weigh every day, I feel that it is showing patterns that are good to know. When I eat dinner too late, or eat out where I know there is alot more salt than I usually use - weight gain.

Due to lack of room, I feel I can only concentrate on the balance games and a few of the areobic ones. I definitely need to bump of the intensity of my workouts and get strength training included, but overall I've been happy with what the Wii has been doing for me.

Take care

We have a WII~ we love it. I got the WII fit for Chirstmas but haven't had the chance to use it much. My son really likes Legos Indiana Jones. I am hoping that I will be able to use the FIT more when I am healed a little better. My dh and I love the sports. We play the bowling and baseball ones all the time. Glad you are getting a better sense of balance.
