Does anyone collect antique sewing machines? I do. I now have 5. Four Singers and one Morse. This past weekend I finally got a 221. Unfortunately my dh says its my birthday/Christmas present. I can't use it till then (bday isn't until November  ) It's just sitting in my sewing room calling my name.

Hi Marianne! My sister collects antique sewing machines. Me? I love to look at them but don't have any in a collection. I do have a toy singer sewing machine from the early 60's that actually works (and some actually consider it an antique! It was mine as a child)
Tell us more about your machines. Do you display them? Use them?

My dh has build a shelf for me to display them in my sewing room. Right now they are in a corner waiting to be used and showed off. I have an old Singer treadle sewing machine not sure of the age cause I can't read the serial #. I have another Singer that is portable from 1918 that is in great shape. Another is from 1954 that is in a table. The 221 is either from the 40s or 50s. I haven't looked up the birthdate of it yet. The Morse is from the 50s also in pristine condition. That one I can't find any info on.
