I love crocheting/knitting with wool yarns, especially as I like to felt, ie.purses. But i have very dry eyes, and the tiny threads that come off & float around hurt my eyes for days. I've tried putting a small fan behind me (gotta watch the kitty there) and wearing glasses, which helps a little but not enough. Tried acrylic 'hazard' protection googles, but they're all tight(big head!) and I look ridiculous-hubby will put up with alot but.... any ideas?
I was going to suggest glasses but it sounds like you tried those.
I'm not sure what "acrylic 'hazard' protection googles" so I may be suggesting the same thing. I would go to the hardware store and look into saftey glasses. I used to have to wear them when I was working in a manufacturing plant. Some were like regular glasses and others slipped over your glasses. The second type were bulky but much loser. They also will block the threads from coming at your eyes from the sides.
Another option is to try eye drops, before and after you knit.
Take care
