Is anyone enjoying the Olympics this year? It snuck up on me without realizing it was the year!
I love the ice dancing and ice skating events. I think I missed the down hill sled racing though?
Anyone else watching the Olympics?

Yes, I have been watching off and on. The USA has not done as well as I had expected and then there are some good reasons why that is.
Did you watch it when the USA gal competing in the snowboard cross with others, lost the gold when she did a "show off" move and fell right before she crossed the finish line? The gal who was behind her for some distance passed her by and grabbed the gold. It seems she felt overly secure getting the spot and wanted to add a little something for the crowd.
I will never forget that, and I don't suppose she will either.
I am eager to watch the womens figure skating. The couples ice dance is tonight.

Yes, we have been watching it... I have been watching the curling... I dont remember that from before. We have a shuffle board table and curling takes shuffle board to a whole new level! We have also been watching the ice dancing. The American pair is so graceful and beautiful and I was so proud of them for staying upright last night! The ice got the better of several pairs.

I absolutely live for Olympic Figure Skating, so I try not to miss a moment of those competitions. I also get a bang out of the Skeleton and the Luge.

I usuallly spend lots of time watching the Olympics. This year has not worked out very well to do that. Have missed most of the figure skating, my favorite. Will have to miss toinight's womens finals.

I've been watching every night... I really like watching the moguls and the downhill skiing! I even watched some nordic events, which encouraged me to get my own cross-country skis out and actually use them!
I am watching the figure skating right now, hate that it is on so late on the East coast, I have to be up early for work tomorrow :(. What I hate is the fact that it is really hard "not" to find out what happens ahead of time. Today I landed on MSNBC (my homepage) to a pciture of Sasha Cohen saying where she placed....I was not happy!

Wow, figure skating last night had some surprises. I really thought Cohen was not going to medal. It was a good thing she was good with her other moves even though she fell and messed up on one other thing.
I think the Japanese gal was good and skated clean. The Russian gal looked much worse than the short skate event. I still like look and style of Cohen's skating minus her fall, and she has the ability to get the gold, too bad her nerves get in the way. The Japanese gal always looked calm and confident. The Russian gal was under a lot of pressure to win the gold, mostly from herself. She looked pretty stiff and not confident as she did in the short program.
I believe they got what they deserved from last night's performance. I wonder how the results would have turned out if all three had skated clean?

I agree... I think the Japanese girl did an amazing job. I was sort of suprised that Sasha Cohen even got Silver... but with the new points system, falling even gets you points (although not as many as NOT falling!)

I love watching the Olympics - especially the figure skating. The ice dancing costumes took me by surprise this year. They were WILD! All the drops and falls surprised me too.
I thought that the girls all handled last night's disapointments well.
I enjoy seeing the ski jumps and speed skating too.

I believe it would have been:
Gold - Sasha Cohen
Silver - Irina Slutskaya
Bronze - Shizuka Arakawa
It was quite a night! Unpredicable, exciting and full of drama.

My husband had me set the alarm for 6:00 this morning to watch the bronze men's curling match. He is convinced that we need curling in Bastrop Texas. I am wondering if this is the new golf for him... LOL!
