Hi, Kimberly!
I homeschooled for 15 years--just finished up last Spring.
I'm up for any questions you might have.
How old are your kids?

Hi there homeschooling_momma,
We're in the middle of our Kindergarten year and lovin' it, I must say. So many more opportunities than public school. We also home pre-schooled last year to get a feel for it. I have three little dolls. Emily 5, Evalyn 2 and Bizbess (No. 2 couldn't say Elizabeth) age 8 mos. and prayerfully more. I'm looking foreward to conversing with you. This is my first time on something like this.

God Bless,
Jessica

I homeschooled 2 of my children. I have 5 children, but i decided to pull my youngest 2 out of school to teach them at home. I did not do this for the reason that most do. My youngest had health problems which required me to either hire a tutor or teach her myself. My son, who was in 5th grade at the time was having difficulty with one of his teachers (who had issues with Jehovah Witnesses). Because I needed to teach my daughter at home I decided to also teach my son at home. I was a little hesitant at first but I grew to love the time and experience I had with them. Whould I do it all over again? YES, it was the best time of my life.

I am interested in the concept of the homeschooling thing in the USA - it isn't legal here, though some parents have tried to campaign for legislation which would legalize it.

I look at the stuff my nephews learn in 4th grade these days - maths I did in JHS, not to mention science.

I understand how parents can learn history, English and even a foreign language with their child, even if they aren't experts in those subjects, but how do homeschooling parents deal with complicated maths and sciences (which can require lab equipment)?
