What do you and your family do for fun?

When my children were young, we liked playing Scrabble and Trivial Pursuit. We would also get video tapes from the Library. (Do people even use VCRs anymore?)

What do you and your family do for fun? Do you have a family night out? maybe a movie night? any special activities/games?

My children are older and out of the house. So, hubby and I joined a gym and we do that together. It's challenging and fun and we get to spend time together.

We try to have movie night once a week. Our kids like to play games too. We have twins so for us, taking time for one-on-one with each parent is important since during the early years they were always together. They are almost 8 so they are starting to find their own interests. Some of our family time is devoted to supporting each of their interests. One loves sports and wants to be a Vet, the other is very artistic and wants to be a dancer. Life is fun!

I'm single so there are no family nights out.

I do volunteer work with a local animial rescue group and play volleyball. In the summer I swim. I also am trying to plan "me time" on a regular basis where I just take time to do things like sit around with a good book or go for a massage.

Life seemed to get in the way the last few years so I have a goal of getting back on my bicycle on a regular basis when the weather warms up.

I have a 8 year old son and a newborn daughter so most of the activities are centered around him for now. We love playing board games we own a ton and anytime we find a new one we have to get it. We do park days, and take mini vacations at local hotels. He loves video games and so does DH so they play together. We always try to find new interesting things to experience for instance we went dune buggying in the desert and went skiing last winter. We like to check out different museums and go to the community theater a lot too.

Some evenings we like to sit around the firepit and roast marshmallows :)
