Just looking for other ladies that are owned by cats! I have 10 of them. I used to do volunteer work for a local animal shelter and ended up with the ones that no one wanted. My husband made me give it up when the number went up to 10! They are all very spoiled kitties and they don't know what a stranger is as they see lots of people here at the lodge. I have several cabins and they like to go and visit guests. They follow guests down to the dock and wait for someone to catch a salmon so they can get a treat! I warn the guests when they book so the guests that stay here are fellow cat people! Even some that thought they weren't cat people end up liking my cats before they leave. One of my cats will race us to the boat if he sees us headed to the dock with fishing poles. He loves to go out on the boat. He gets lots of attention from other people out on the river. We live on the Kasilof river which only allows drift boats, so no motors.
I have one which was only 3 days old when I got him. He was left in a dumpster and someone found him and took him to the shelter. I used to take him to the doctor's office where I work to feed him every 2 hours. The doc used to tease him saying "He'll be a great mouser if he is ever bigger than the mouse.". He was 4 ounces when I brought him home and now he is 16.5 pounds. My oldest cat is 18 years old but she still rules the roost. Miss Muffin is the boss! I have 7 boys and 3 girls. All of them are Alaska cats and go right out and play in the snow in the winter as long as it is at least 20 degrees. (I won't let them go out if it is colder-they get quite upset with me) and they don't even mind the occasional moose in the yard!
Well, their names are Mizzy, Muffin, Meco, Ebony, Critter, Cocoa Puff, Casper, JoJo, Jayde, and George.
Looking forward to meeting other cat ladies.

I have one cat. Some days she is more than enough :D

She was an owner turn in to a rescue group. I had previously had a cat but ended up being allergic to him and ended up taking medication in order to keep him. The allergies seemed to get better when I moved out of state and after he passed away I realized I was fine around some cats. When I saw my cat, I was glad her fur was the same texture as the other cats that didn't seem to bother my allergies and I took a chance and adopted her. I figured worst case I would have to take allergy meds again. :o

I volunteer with a local animal rescue group and if I need to help out with the cats I feel miserable by the time I leave even if I take allergy meds in advance so there is no way I can bring another cat into my home. :(

I used to have 3 cats, but we are down to one. We lost our beloved Choo Choo who passed away at the age of 20 last June. She was our baby, we miss her dearly. Two years ago, we lost our big fluffy cuddly Kitty Kitty at the age of 16. Both had renal failure. We administered both with IV fluids. Kitty we think had a heart attack, she died in my arms, while Chooch we had to have put down as she was such a fighter, would not give up and her organs were failing. Poor thing, she couldn't even walk the day we decided it was time. She kept trying to get up, but just couldn't do it. We miss them both alot. We do have our wonderful memories to comfort us.

Our Little One is 15 years old. She is a little pisser. Funny, this was the cat that my dh insisted on getting. I had said no, as we already had two, well that cat is now my cat. LOL She follows me around, meows at me to get out of bed and comes when I call. I have come to find out that when she meows for me to get out of bed it is because she wants my spot in the bed. :signlol:

I used to be allergic to cats. My eyes use to well up, water, sinuses dripping, etc. I was just miserable. Many years ago when dh & I got our first cat I went thru a box of kleenex in the car driving her home. I have read that it can be the dander on the cat and not the cat itself that causes the allergies. We started bathing the cats regularly, it helped alot. When I would start sneezing and get the eyes watering I would tell dh that it was time to bathe the cats.
