Just looking for other ladies that are owned by cats! I have 10 of them. I used to do volunteer work for a local animal shelter and ended up with the ones that no one wanted. My husband made me give it up when the number went up to 10! They are all very spoiled kitties and they don't know what a stranger is as they see lots of people here at the lodge. I have several cabins and they like to go and visit guests. They follow guests down to the dock and wait for someone to catch a salmon so they can get a treat! I warn the guests when they book so the guests that stay here are fellow cat people! Even some that thought they weren't cat people end up liking my cats before they leave. One of my cats will race us to the boat if he sees us headed to the dock with fishing poles. He loves to go out on the boat. He gets lots of attention from other people out on the river. We live on the Kasilof river which only allows drift boats, so no motors.
I have one which was only 3 days old when I got him. He was left in a dumpster and someone found him and took him to the shelter. I used to take him to the doctor's office where I work to feed him every 2 hours. The doc used to tease him saying "He'll be a great mouser if he is ever bigger than the mouse.". He was 4 ounces when I brought him home and now he is 16.5 pounds. My oldest cat is 18 years old but she still rules the roost. Miss Muffin is the boss! I have 7 boys and 3 girls. All of them are Alaska cats and go right out and play in the snow in the winter as long as it is at least 20 degrees. (I won't let them go out if it is colder-they get quite upset with me) and they don't even mind the occasional moose in the yard!
Well, their names are Mizzy, Muffin, Meco, Ebony, Critter, Cocoa Puff, Casper, JoJo, Jayde, and George.
Looking forward to meeting other cat ladies.
