Last May my B.F. started playing an online game called World of Warcraft. I thought the thrill would be gone by now, but no, it seems every waking minute is spent building up characters and fighting in the game.

I admit I spend a lot of time on the computer too, doing my web design jobs, maintaining personal sites, surfing, etc and we're side by side in the same office. But nothing prepared me for the amount of time devoted to this game! It's super addictive for guys, for some reason.

I tell myself it's better than him being out somewhere with the guys, but nothing takes the place of quality one-on-one time together.

Sigh.

My DS plays X-box Live any chance he gets, and My DH plays solitaire every waking minute. Ugh!

There's also Starcraft, Diablo, Diablo II, 8 or so different versions of Star Trek, and then there's all the online games.

And you know, I really don't mind. I like having the TV all to myself with my husband only 10 feet away. And during the commercials I quietly sneak up behind him, stick my fingers in his sides and yell, "Fire Phasers!" He jumps, the dog starts barking, he starts chasing me, the dog starts chasing him, and it's all chaos.

If it really bothers you though, pick a night and make it a "PC-Free" one. Or send the PC out to be cleaned. Or if really desperate, start talking like one of the characters.."Battlefield Kitchen...Breakfast.. Ready." Maybe you could learn the game yourself and play against him. If you win, he might give it up for good. ;)

Oh gosh my dh goes through phases with the games he plays. I think the most time consuming for him are Rouge (sp?) Spear and the Black Hawk Down. He used to always tell me that it just takes alot of time to get set up and play a full game online!!

Give me a break!!
