I don't know about y'all, but here in SE Texas it has been HOT, HOT, HOT! And DRY, DRY, DRY. We are experiencing what they are calling a 100 year drought and are setting records for most days of triple digit heat. We now have the hottest June on record. Thus far, July seems like it is going to much of the same. :hot:

One thing I always think about when it gets this steamy hot, how did they do it before air conditioning? And to think back in the early days, the women had to wear petticoats and heavy dresses. At least I can throw on shorts and a tank top, could not imagine having a heavy dress on in this heat.

How has the summer weather been where you are?

The weather has been hot here too. There were some record setting or close to record setting days in June. The temps eased up but it's still been way too hot...at least for me. The older I get the more I can't stand the heat.

Before the school year ended they closed due to the hot weather. We never had AC at my grade school and high school...and we never got to wear shorts when it was warm. Of course we always wrapped up our school year the first week of June, not towards the end of the month.

I thought it was going to be a hot day again today but some rain came through and cooled things off.

Take care

It has been so hot here in Pittsburgh. We are not used to this type of weather. It's been around 90, but very humid. If it wasn't so humid, maybe it would be more tolerable.

Yesterday and today it's been beautiful weather. Not too hot and a nice breeze. I actually started getting chilly sitting on the porch.

Take care

Still HOT HOT HOT here. Although it has been cloudy today, keeping the temps down a bit. Humidity is still awful. There has been talk of some rain. Even though we have a weekend at the Lake planned, am still hoping we get the rain. We desparately need the rain.

Pam,
I grew up in Milwaukee, WI. I remember those summer days of 90 degree stifling heat! Where you walk out the door and cannot breathe. Just like the winters, down here we get more of a damp cold, where as in Milwaukee it is usually more of a dry crisp cold. Some may think cold is cold and hot is hot, but living in both places there is a difference.

Kim,

I went to Dallas about 5 weeks after my hyst to babysit for my niece. It was August. OMG. I don't know how you do it! I'm not sure if it was a combination of no hormones and the time of the year, but it was brutal. This was a few years ago, but I have not been back since. Cannot take it. You are right, there are differences in the weather depending on where you are in the country. But this humidity is ridiculous here in the 'burg. I never thought I would be happy to see fall come!

I am repeating over and over, come on October! Just like winter was unusually cold everywhere, looks like summer is having intense heat everywhere also.

Our temps here continue to climb, high of 100 today with a heat index of up to 110. Tomorrow they are saying 102. No rain in sight and no relief soon. Sigh... Air conditioning is working in overdrive. Too hot to do anything outside. I don't know how folks that work outdoors do it in this heat.

It got hot again but thankfully not as hot. It's also not been as humid. We had a ton of rain earlier this week. Roads were flooded so there were a lot of traffic backups.

I feel like the fact I feel like I lost out on most of the summer being stuck inside because of the weather. Although I want it to be cooler, I don't want summer to end. There are way to many things I had planned to do but haven't been able to do because it's just been too hot. :(

Here it is September and we are still in the high 90's. We had a brief reprieve a few weeks ago, but it was short lived. Feels like it will be a hot summer until Christmas time. :signlol:

Kim:

I have family in Grand Prairie (near DFW) and they are telling me the same thing. It's been getting a little cooler here, but with my hot flashes, it still feels like it's in the 90's and humid! :D
