Have you been on a cruise? Where did you go? How long was the cruise? Where did you stop along the way? What is/was your favorite thing to do on the ship?

I will be going on my first cruise in November for my honeymoon and I am so excited. We will be on The Carnival Conquest sailing in the Western Carribean. We will make a stop in Cozymel, Grand Cayman, and Jamaica. Anyone been on this trip? :D

I went on a cruise many years ago before I was married. We sailed to the Bahamas and Bermuda on a 7 day cruise out of NY. It was the BEST vacation I have ever been on except for DisneyWorld. The food is fantastic, there is so much to do and you meet very nice people. As someone told me before I set sail, ..until you go on a cruise, you do NOT know what you are missing. Have a blast!!

I have been on a Disney Cruise and would love to go again on a Disney Cruise.

After 9/11 Disney had a special for all military and police/fireman etc. Because of this special we decided to go on the cruise, we took my parents with us. All five of us had a great time and would love to go again.

Even being that it was a Disney Cruise there was so much for our son to do and tons of stuff for us adults.

We went on the seven day cruise to the Virgin Islands and stopped in St John, St Thomas and the Disney Island in the Bahamas.

I can not pick out just one thing that was great becuase it was all so much fun. Thinking back on it the midnight dessert buffet was excellent.

I would love to go on another Disney Cruise with my parents, siblings and their children. We have all vacationed together before and had a good time, I know they would all have a blast on this cruise.

Have a great time on the cruise. Like it was mentioned in another post, once you cruise, you know what you are missing and will want to go again.

My dream vacation used to be to go to Australia and tour, since the cruise all I want to do is do another cruise.

I have been on four cruises. One had the same stops in Grand Cayman, Cozumel, and Jamaica. That cruise was a week. My first was a three day cruise to Mexico, then a four day cruise to the Bahamas. My favorite was a week in the Greek Islands and Turkey. I pray I will get to do that again before I die!

I love cruises. You get to go to different locations without all the repacking of your luggage. On ship I love visiting with new people. I like walking around the ship and seeing everything. The shops are fun. Most of all, I loved the land packages. In Jamaica, we got off the ship and on a smaller boat and cruised around the island. We got out at the waterfalls and then went out snorkeling.

The history in the Greek Islands and Turkey blew me away. I wasn't feeling up to the nude beaches though.

By far, my favorite way to vacation! Happy Honeymoon!

My husband and I went on a cruise to the Bahama's it was awesome. I loved it. Best tip Don't pack alot of clothes> I packed so many clothes and then just walked around in my bathing suit or shorts for 4 days. We only ate in the dining room one night and that is formal dress. We enjoyed the caual dining it tastes great and you can where your shorts and tshirts. Have a wonderful time.

My husband and I went on our first cruise last August. It was the best vacation we've ever taken. We went on a 4 day Carnival cruise to Mexico...Cozumel, Playa del Carmen, and one other place I don't remember.

The food was awesome...and abundant. I swear there was somewhere to get good food 24 hours a day! I have to agree with the person who said they only ate formal one night. We were going to eat formal every night but we were having so much fun that we just grabbed food here and there and kept on having fun!

You meet some really nice people. We've even kept in touch with a couple we met on the cruise. We hope to plan another cruise together soon.

They have tons of stuff for kids to do. We'd like to take our kids on the next one. They even have babysitters that will sit in your room if you want to stay out real late.

I'd take some Dramamine if I were you. Just in case. We were okay on the trip there but on the way back the seas got a little rocky and we both got sick. It wasn't too bad though.

Be sure to watch the sunrise at least once. It's amazing. Nothing like it.

Oh Wow, are you in for a treat! I love cruises. I've been on quite a few, aout 7-8! I have been to those Islands and on Carnival, but not that ship. There is just so much to do. You won't get to do everything, especially on a first cruise and most importantly , it's your honeymoon! :)

Grand Cayman - swim with the Stingrays. That was awesome. I also enjoyed the Butterfly Farm there and there's also 7-mile beach. You'll have to make a choice though.

Jamaica - Be careful. We went to Margueritaville, centrally located on the Hip Strip and where the party never stops. By day bounce about on the water trampolines, relax in the rooftop hot tub or ride the monster slide that plunges 110 feet into the Caribbean. At night the danceteria swings to the latest international and local sounds. But whenever you visit sample the grilled specials, fajitas, burgers and authentic local fare. Wash it all down with one of the 52 tropical flavors of margueritas or bongs of beer. Something's always happening at Margeritaville. We had our daughter and a friend that had just graduated with us. WE all had a good time.

Cozemel, Hopefully, it is back to normal after the hurricane. I love the town for shopping. The restuarant, Poncho's Back Porch is downtown and an excellent "safe" restuarant. At the port, buy some REAL VANILLA. You won't regret it. I like the brand XilKan, it's coumarine free. Make sure it says that on the bottle! The beaches and water is gorgeous there. They have parks you can go to for the day. More decisions to make.

Go to www.cruisecritic.com You can find a wealth of information on their message boards! :yahooo: Have a blast!

HI smalltowngal

Last September my DH and I ( and some other family and friends) went on the same cruise you are going on. Carnival Cruise Lines, Western Carribean, with stops at Cozumel, Grand Cayman, and Ocho Rios, Jamaica. It was a 7 day cruise. We had an absolute blast.

It's really fun to do the offshore excursions. In Cozumel we just walked around, explored the town, did some shopping. At Grand Cayman we booked the Stingray City excursion, and it was incredible. We swam with stingrays (a little scary for me, but they are such gentle creatures), and we also snorkled over a beautiful coral reef. In Jamaica we booked an ocean kayaking excursion which ended with climbing Dunn River Falls...a 700 foot waterfull you can climb all the way to the top. It was invigorating and all so beautiful.

What ship will you be on? We were on the Victory---it's a beautiful ship. Our days at sea were a lot of fun too, as it's like a floating city, and there is so much to do, just onboard. We splurged and got a balcony room, so that during the days we were at sea, we had our own little retreat to sit out on in the morning and have our coffee, and in the evening after our activities, and just watch the ocean go by. It was our first cruise and the best vacation we've ever had.

Have a blast...and do check out all the excursions that are offered.

Yes, it does. Crunchies, with you that close to the ports of Galveston, the cruises are a lot cheaper because you don't need the cost of air! You can just park and get on OR even better , get someone to drop y'all off! Take a short cruise to the Bahamas for a first.

My husband wants to go on an Alaskan cruise really bad!

I was on a Royal Caribbean 7-day cruise in Feb. 2005. We left from San Juan, Puerto Rico, went to Aruba, St. Thomas, St. Maarten, and Curacao. It was an awesome experience. The food was great, the water was blue, and I would go again in a heartbeat!

We went on a Carnival cruise over 17 years ago for our honeymoon. We went to Barbados, St. Thomas, St. Marten, and Martinique. We loved it, there is just so much to do. We did have one night of rough waters so if you may get sea sick dramanine may be a good thing to pack, the rest of the trip you really didn't notice the ship moving. I am sure you will have a great time!

My DH and I went on a cruise to the eastern carribbean almost a year after we were married. It was the grand prize at the bridal show I went to in October 1996. I was lucky to win it and we had a great time. We are planning a cruise to the Western Carribbean for our 10th anniversary. I enjoyed the cruise and I can hardly wait to go again. I liked getting off the ship at the ports of call. My husband's parents went to Alaska on a cruise for the 50th. I hope I will get to go on that cruise sooner than that.

A thing we always do on crusises to keep from getting sea sick (and we never have), is to take Bonine (like dramamine w/o sleepiness) about 2 days BEFORE leaving and then one each morning of the cruise. Usually by the fourth day, we stop taking it. The ships now days literally have no movement. But, if really rough waters come along, you do feel a little and why take a chance.
