I have read many of the Chicken Soup for the Soul books and just read the Chicken Soup for the Military Wives Soul.

Being a military wife I was able to relate to many of these stories.

The first story in the book was very touching to me. I also was able to relate to many of the stories of the wives on how they coped while their soldier was deployed.

My DH was deployed to OIF II for 18 months. It was a long time yet my DS and I survived just like my DH survived his time in Baghdad, Iraq.

I finished reading Chicken Soup for the Soul long ago--so long that I had to have the book renewed at the library and it's in danger of being past due now. I think it's a good time to finish up this challenge. ;)

One story I particularly liked was called A Story For Valentine's Day. It's about expressing appreciation for the things others in our lives do daily and the profound effect a few words of acknowledgement can bring. :)

A day peppered with sincere thanks and words of encouragement can help keep family life harmonious. I'm going to make it a point to add more into mine.

The story titled Are You Going To Help Me? points out the incredible bond between a parent and child. Against seemingly impossible odds a father dug through the rubble to find his missing son. Though approached by many and asked to leave, his reply was simple "Are you going to help me?" Love is powerful. What a great ending this story had!

I plan to check out more Chicken Soup books from the library.
