False eyelashes: An easy way to go from drab to glam!

False eyelashes can create a dramatic effect or look ridiculous! With these easy how-to tips you can avoid looking comical and be on your way to instant glamour.

There are two different types of eyelashes and the first step is deciding which one is best for you. Strip eyelashes are easier to apply but look more obvious than the individual lashes which are more natural looking but a little more challenging to apply. The trick with both is finding lashes that are thin, flexible and natural looking.

How to apply your lashes:

Strip eyelashes are quite easy to apply and are recommended for beginners.

Step One: Hold the eyelash strip against your eyelid to check the size. If it is too wide for your eye it is best to trim it starting from the outer corner until the strip is the exact width of your eye.

Step Two: Apply a thin coat of glue to the eyelash strip and wait a few seconds to allow the glue to become tacky.

Step Three: Pick up the eyelash strip and starting at the outer corner of your eye, press the strip into your natural lash line.

Step Four: Using tweezers, adjust the strip up or down to fit the natural curve of your eyelash line.

Step Five: Once your lashes are in place, hold them down firmly until set.

Step Six: Blend false eyelashes with your natural ones by applying mascara.

Individual eyelashes require a steadier hand but look more natural.

Be careful when removing individual lashes from their container as they are very delicate.

Step One: Squeeze a dime sized amount of glue onto a piece of foil.

Step Two: With a pair of tweezers pick up an individual lash and dip the adhesive end into the glue.

Step Three: Wait a few seconds to allow the glue to become tacky.

Step Four: Starting at the outer corner of your eye gently press the lash into your natural lash line and hold in place until the glue is dry.

Step Five: Continue this process moving towards the inner corner of your eye.

Step Six: Allow your lashes to completely dry before applying eye makeup!

Remember, practice is the key to applying false eyelashes. It might prove to be challenging at first but once you apply them a few times you will be an eyelash pro!
