If you've struggled with setting goals you are not alone. Many well intentioned women spend time talking about their goals instead of achieving them.
Susie had plans to get the clutter in her house under control. Joan had plans to quit smoking. Mary Ann set a goal to lose weight.
Each of these women had a goal. They talked about the goals with their friends and family. They bought products to help them accomplish their goals. Sad to say but two months later these three women were still talking about their goals and there was no evidence of any of them being closer to achieving the end result.
How do you take your plans and motivate yourself to final accomplishment?
Set a time
Make an appointment with yourself. Mark it on your calender. Show up! Set aside other things that would distract you. Show up!
Visual Motivation
Put reminders on your bathroom mirror. Hang a photo of your skinny twenty year old self on the refrigerator as a reminder of what "less weight" looked like on you. Add a reminder in your car if you spend a great deal of time there. The better the visual, the better the motivation.
Written Contract
Sounds silly but a contract with yourself can be a great motivation. Write it down. Start a journal. Tell yourself what you will do. Date it. Sign it.
Accountability
Tell a friend and ask them to hold you accountable. Give them permission to ask you questions about your progress. Select a badge at GirlsGetGoing.com's challenge area as an accountability device to nudge you towards your goal.
Setting the goal is only half the task. Motivating yourself to attain the goal can be frustrating but with support from visual reminders, written contracts, accountability with friends and GirlsGetGoing.com, you will find your goals completly within your reach.
