Pogo Your Way to Success

If you have found yourself with a plan of action and then a road block to success, you are not alone. The question is how will you deal with the road block? Will it change your course of action or will you find a way around or over the obstacle?

Recently a loaf of bread disappeared from my kitchen island. I had no idea where it went as I noticed it missing and figured my husband must have put it away in a new, unique spot.

I have a hard headed wiener dog. She is quite the intelligent critter and I could write for days about her smarts. I have now learned she has an addiction to bread.

I found the half eaten loaf of bread half buried in the backyard and realized her slim, long body was looking a bit chunky. Carb-fiend! I had no clue how she managed to get the loaf of bread and imagined it fell to the floor at some point and was dragged out the doggy-door.

Days later I heard some noise in the kitchen. "Thunk! Thunk! Thunk!"

Quietly heading to the kitchen I found my wiener dog bouncing like a pogo stick. Up and down she bounced, hitting the side of the cabinets "thunk!" and was very close to grabbing a loaf of bread by the edge of the cellophane!

My kitchen cabinets are quite the ordinary height and while most medium to large dogs would make it easy work to grab a loaf of bread and run, remember the wiener dog's legs which are very, very short.

I moved the bread back to the center of the island, vowing to be careful in the future to keep the bread away from the edge. But at the same time, I was impressed by the hard-headed determination of this dog.

Fast forward a few more days. I returned home from a day at the office and found my dog looking quite full. In fact when dinner time rolled around she didn't tell me it was time. Yes, I found another empty cellophane bag in the backyard.

So there it is. The determination of a dog who became a pogo to overcome obstacles: height of a cabinet, shortness of legs, the careful placement of a loaf of bread to stay away from the edge by the 'master' and yet she had success.

How about you? Can you find a way to pogo your way around the obstacles? You can if you are determined enough!
