The Girls Get Going website maintains an email list to keep GGG members informed about breaking events. Members select to be updated via email by the administration of GirlsGetGoing during registration. Checking "no" to "receiving email from admin" in your member's control panel will opt you out of receiving newsletter emails from this site. In addition, we configure our message board software to refuse to divulge the email addresses of our members to anyone.
Database Content:
The Girls Get Going website is created around a database containing posts, registration info, survey results, private messages, logged IPs and other activities. The information contained within the database belongs to GGG. An administrator of Girls Get Going, if so inclined, can access information in the database. Posts, IPs, private messages are all accessible within the database. They are private, but not necessarily secret.
Your identity
The Girls Get Going website takes precaution in helping you to maintain your privacy within the membership. Although your email address is verified as you join, the email addresses are hidden and are not viewable by members.
We ask that you are careful that you do not provide your email address nor your exact location in order to maintain safety while you use the Girls Get Going website. Although Zip Codes are collected for use in the database for local news emails, they are not displayed publicly. Be safe! Be smart! Content: Girls Get Going website is created to be women's online support community for goal setting and life management.
Safety: We ask that you do not include your personal email address, real name, phone numbers, addresses within the content of your blog or your posts. This is to help you maintain your personal privacy for safety reasons.
Keep it PG-rated: The community of Girls Get Going is based upon "Kind support, woman to woman". You agree not to post messages or links that are obscene, profane, sexually explicit or descriptively graphic. Posts with sexual content should have a tone of maturity without bragging or schoolgirl giggling.
Inappropriate Word Usage: The Girls Get Going message boards have a censor that removes inappropriate words and replaces them with ***. Do not attempt to bypass the censor by misspelling inappropriate words. They will be edited.
Your signature: Your signature should not contain links. If you have a website you'd like to show off, please add it to your profile under "Home Page".
Solicitations (SPAM): It is against board rules to invite, solicit or coerce others to join other community websites through posts, email, PM, use of Girls Get Going membership list or any other resource within the GirlsGetGoing website. Username/Account: Each member of girlsgetgoing.com may have no more than one username/account. If you have trouble with your log-in or password, contact the website. Multiple accounts will be merged into one username account.
Moving posts: The staff of Girls Get Going reserves the right to move your post from one forum category to another for the sole purpose of providing you with the best possible support for your needs. We believe it is important to keep your posts within the proper forum for your support needs as well as our visiting members reading. Additionally, please do not cross-post (posting the same message in more than one forum). Duplicate posts will be removed.
Disabling/editing of posts/users: The team of Girls Get Going reserves the right to edit/remove the posts and/or disable the account of any member who does not comply with these community guidelines or any reason deemed appropriate by the administration for the good of the community and its safety. Requests for removal will entail removing personal data, location, avatar, etc,. to protect the privacy of the person but the member account will remain intact because of the nature of the threading of posts within the database.
Freedom of Speech? Although the constitution of the US guarantees that “Congress shall make no law abridging the freedom of speech”, Girls Get Going is not Congress. Freedom of speech rights do not extend to this privately owned website. The TOS/Guidelines of this website governs the behaviors and activities of the members. If you choose not to follow the guidelines agreed to during registration, the result is a disabling of your account.
Women only please: These features of the Girls Get Going website are intended to be a "Women helping Women" website for goal setting and life management. Men's posts may be removed or closed in keeping with the boundaries of girlsgetgoing.com. To make it easy, we ask that men not register.
