Default Do YOU Drive a Toyota?

Oh, ladies....

I'm not trying to get into a debate about the actions of Toyota. I also know the issues are way more complex than we can get into here.

I am wondering, though -- do you drive a Toyota, and if so, what are you doing? Is your car among those recalled for various issues? Are you without transportation while you wait for things to be made right?

I have to say I'm glad I decided against buying a Toyota when I bought a new vehicle a couple of years ago! I had really enjoyed my Sienna van, and so I really thought long and hard before deciding on a Volkswagen Touareg.

I drive a Toyota Rav4. But I'm not on the recall list. I do have to say that I love my Rav, but I know that I would think long and hard before I would buy one in the near future. Although, to be fair, other car companies have had recalls in the past, I don't remember one to this degree.

I drive a Pontiac Vibe which is basically the same as the Toyota Matrix. I've had my Vibe for 6+ years and love it just as much now as the day I bought it. My model year is not impacted but newer models are.

Due to all the shared parts among models and the fact that many models are no longer designed from the ground up, it was only a matter of time before a recall of this magnitude occured.

In my opinion the only reason it is making headlines is the volume of cars impacted and the fact that Toyota had a good record with the quality of their cars.

Maybe if my car was impacted and I received bad customer service in dealing with this recall issue, I would feel differently, but when the time comes to buy another car, I will keep my options open to all makes and models...including Toyota.

Take care

My Dad has 2 Toyotas - neither is recalled. I also had one years ago that was like the energizer battery. It just kept going and going with hardly any problems at all. However, right now I have a Hyundai tuscon and bought that because the safety ratings were so good and the price was right. It is a great car and if/when I need another I would look at them first...

I'm proud to say I drive a F-150 Ford Truck. No government bail-out and no bad nasty Toyota recalls.

Of course it's old and needs work, but the next vehicle will be a Ford, we live in Ford country, most everyone around here drives a Ford, and the owner of the dealership and my father went to high school together and they've been good to our family. I'm sticking with them.
